Thursday 12/17 Live Blog

'Tis another day closer to Santa's birthday, and we've dug up another hot (or cold, in this case) gift idea that'll make the season bright for someone on your list. Titanic-shaped ice cubes!! Inappropriate? Maybe. Tacky? Definitely. Where else can you sit back and witness the sinking of a luxury liner each and every time you enjoy a cocktail?

Weekend Buzz was loaded with holiday happenings (find those here, presented by Camera Casino) as we enter the final weekend before the festivities really go off the chain. Check out Nutcracker in the Castle at The Paine, Homemade Holidays at the Oshkosh Public Museum, and a slew of other events on the Zen Body Salon Community Calendar at k107.com.

Bob Buchicchio, our K107.1 Relationship Expert, gave us good advice on how to maintain the sanity as family and friends move in and out of our lives during the holidays. Your presence is the best present! It also helps to stop, take a breath, and realize that ain't none of us gonna be on this rock in 100 years anyway (that's the Jon & Mary advice, NOT sanctioned or endorsed by Dr. Bob).

Sara Cujak from Cujak's Wine Market offered a few suggestions about what to pair with your holiday feast. Bottle of red, bottle of white, bottle of champipple, Sara has it all.

Finally, it's Day Ocho of the Service League's 12 Days of Christmas Cash Raffle. Of our 7 winners so far, 6 have been big burly men..and today is no exception. Congrats to Johnny Snider of Fond du Lac, now with an $800 bulge in his stocking.

Makes sense that with only 8 shopping days left before Christmas, you may be feeling a bit like your quest for the ideal gift has been in vain? A bit...desperate? How about this fun & festive t-shirt? Jon's grandma swears by it, making it a Carson family tradition to ask her to "put on a sweater" for lo these many years now.

Dave Haase from Attitude Sports stopped in with an update on Jon's snowboarding adventure. After a few spills down area hills over the last few weeks, the offical broken bone tally still sits at zero. Check out a full line of snowboards and gear at Attitude Sports and begin your own adventure (or make someone's holiday dreams of a bruised ribcage come true!).

K107.1 Wedding Expert Sharon Naylor gave us her thoughts on planning your nuptials around the holidays. Pick up one of Sharon's 30 books for brides & grooms, and get more great advice at her website.

In 2002, The Nanny Diaries was a worldwide sensation for authors Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. They (and the nanny) are back in Nanny Returns, picking up 10 years following the original. Emma and Nicola gave us the inside scoop on where Nan's life has taken her over the years, and reminded us that their latest work would make a dandy gift.

Day 7 (already!) in the Service League's 12 Days of Christmas Cash Raffle made Timothy Murray of San Francisco, California a whopping $700 richer. Congrats Timothy...and if you see a heart laying around, our buddy Tony Bennett is looking for one.
