Friday 7/3 Live Blog

July 4th weekend has arrived...and as dad always said, "if you got the same number of fingers after the Fourth as you did before it, consider yourself blessed."

Kevin Miller stopped by to fill us in on July events at the Windhover Center in downtown Fond du Lac, and then we ran down the listing of area fireworks this weekend (see yesterday's blog entry for details).

Local artist Jeff Kahlow told us the amazing story of meeting KISS at Summerfest last weekend. Jeff's the guy who makes all those cool hats for Walleye Weekend, and he put together some very special-edition Big Guy Hats for Gene and the boys.

Oshkosh's newest, and possibly smallest, small business is up and running as Team Lemonade has set up shop at Choice Bank. The four owners range in age from seven to ten and can be found at the Choice Bank location on Witzel.

We took a look at the "mature" version of patriotism put forth by Dr. David Gruder. Understanding the U.S. Constitution means more than just memorization, it takes a willingness to put those principles into practice on a daily basis, according to the Doc...especially on a holiday like July 4th.
