Final preparations are now underway on this lovely St. Patrick's Day Eve. As you can see, Jon has had his kilt cleaned & pressed, while Mary has just baked a fresh batch of corned beef cookies in anticipation of St. Paddy himself sliding down her chimney in the wee hours tomorrow morning. 'Tis truly the most exciting day 'o the year.
We started the show this morning by welcoming in a couple of guests who had been bumped in the last week (sorry about that, folks). Chef John Barricelli from PBS' Everyday Food joined us to chat about his new The SoNo Baking Company Cookbook (see 3/11 blog entry for more details), and Robin Schroeder was here with a rundown of the St. Baldrick's Day fun happening this weekend (see 3/15 blog).
EAA's Family Flightfest returns to the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh this Saturday & Sunday. Check out the entertaining, interactive, and (slightly) educational activities from 10am to 4pm both days. Click here for ticket info, or call 920.426.4818.
A Nick 'n Willy's New Release Tuesday gave us a look at what's fresh in movies and music. Pale teenagers return in Twilight: New Moon, Hugh Grant gets (mis)matched with Sarah Jessica Parker in Did You Hear About the Morgans?, Freddie Highmore voices Astro Boy, and Disney introduces The Princess and the Frog. On the CD shelf, find new drops from The White Stripes, Drive-By Truckers, Gamma Ray, and Flobots.
She calls herself a "holistic esthetician" and is the author of Raw Energy: Snacking, the Raw Food Way. Stephanie Tourles gave us the benefits of going raw, including less flab and more energy. One question...are Chee-tos considered "raw"?
